Transmission and Mitigation of COVID in Healthcare Settings

During this talk Dr. Chetan Jinadatha will discuss the potential for COVID-19 transmission in the health care setting. Prevention of transmission to healthcare workers is of paramount importance for continued fight against COVID-19. Caring for patients with COVID-19 in hospitals presents a unique challenge for prevention of transmission within healthcare setting. Combined with PPE shortages, the challenge becomes even more daunting. To prevent transmission, various chemical disinfectants, no touch disinfection technologies and metals such as copper may have a vital role. We will discuss these modern technologies that are helping with the fight against COVID transmission among patients and healthcare workers.

He is also a Clinical Associate Professor, College of Medicine at Texas A & M University, TX. He is the past president for the Texas Infectious Diseases Society.
