Last month, we were able to report to the Sacramento ACS Section that two of our members had been selected as 2014 ACS Fellows. We know that there are others in the section that have the degree of excellence in their professional activities and achievement in their ACS related activities to be selected as 2015 ACS Fellows. The information has just been released on www.acs.org/fellow for nomination of ACS members for the 2015 honor of being selected as an ACS Fellow.
The selection of ACS Fellows is based on documented excellence and leadership in both of two areas: (1) science, the profession, education, and/or management, and (2) volunteer service in the ACS community. Nomination documents must address both of these areas.
Nominations for 2015 ACS Fellows will open February 1, 2015 and close April 1, 2015. Further information on the selection and eligibility criteria and nomination types can be found on the website.
If you would like to champion the nomination of someone, we need your help. We as a section can nominate 2 individuals. But as the nominees must be members of our section and selected for nomination by the executive Committee, we cannot do it without section members helping us. Now is an opportunity to help honor one of your colleagues.
Please contact Jan Hayes (jmhayesacs@gmail.com) if you have further questions or need help in developing nominations.
