Christopher Sousa Wins Student Scholarship

ACS Sacramento Section is happy to announce that Christopher Sousa has won the 2019 John Berg High School Chemistry Student Scholarship. He wins $1,000 towards his study of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UC Davis.

While at Sheldon High School, he was ranked in the top 20 of his class of 580. He was an active and valued contributor to the Sheldon Biotechnology Academy and an award-winning member of the Sheldon Science Olympiad team.

In addition to his strong performance in coursework at Sheldon High School, the review committee was particularly impressed with his community service work. His efforts included participation in conservation projects, park/creek clean-ups, and helping out at the Elk Grove Food Bank and Senior center. For his Eagle Scout Project he designed, raised funds, and led the construction of three water play structures for Jessi Baker School (JBS).
