A Hoppin’ Couple of Weeks

We have so many events happening over the next two weeks that we decided to start an events calendar. We’ve got the ACS Sacramento Section 66th Annual Meeting and Steak BarbecueUCD Chemistry Magic Show, and the National Chemistry Olympiad all occurring this coming Saturday April 18th.

Then, there are two Earth Day activities next week: one at CalEPA and another at Sacramento City College. Along with celebrating Earth Day, there is also a “Chemists Celebrate Earth Day” Illustrated Poem contest. Poems are due on April 20th. The theme this year is “Climate Science: More Than Just A Weather Report”.

And an early “save the date” announcement: September 12 we will be co-hosting “Wine, Cheese, and Chocolate” at the UCD Mondavi Institute. Look for more details in next month’s newsletter.

I know that there are a lot more activities happening in which our local members participate and organize. Send me information about your chemistry-related event, and I’ll be happy to post it in the calendar.
