Winners Announced for ACS Student Travel Grants

The Sacramento Section of the American Chemical Society is proud to announce the winners of its Student Travel Grants. In the graduate category, Anna Lo of the UC Davis Department of Chemistry has won. In the undergraduate category, Mira Milic of the UC Davis Department of Chemistry won. Each winner receives $250 towards defraying their travel costs to the 2019 ACS National Meeting in San Diego.

Ms. Lo will be presenting her work entitled “Diastereoselective Reactions of N-sulfonyl Imines and Nucleophilic Alkenes.” She has a B. A. from New York University and began graduate school at UC Davis in 2017. 

Ms. Milic will be presenting her work entitled “Quantification of Hydrogen Bond Accepting Ability of Medicinally Relevant N-Heterocycles and Alkaloid Compounds Using P-NMR Spectroscopy.” She graduated from Notre Dame High School in San Jose and has been attending UC Davis since 2017.
